ALC Volleyball earns road victory over Crown, Tennessee

Powell, TN: The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles would journey to the Volunteer State on October 16th to do battle against the Crown College Crusaders (TN). After the dust had settled, the Bluegrass ladies would leave town with a nice 3-1 victory.

In game 1, the home club jumped out to an early lead, but the squads changed points basically the entire way. Finally, with the score reading 23-23, the Crusaders earned the final two points to win, 25-23.

Game 2 saw the Bluegrass ladies determined to make amends for an opening game they thought thay let slip through their fingers. The Caney Creek clubbers would play their best as they opened on a nice run. From that point, the blue and white kept the gas pedal floored and raced away for the big 25-15 victory.

Game 3, saw similar results as the Kentucky squad jumped out to an early lead. They would slowly exted it on their way to a solid 25-17 victory.

In Game 4, Crown turned up the pressure and kept the score tight the entire way. Although the Tennessee crew would hang tough, the Lady Eagles came through down the stretch and pulled out the 25-22 match-clinching victory.

For the match, Kyleah Ward and Callie Butler led the club with 14 and 8 kills. Gracie Gibson (15) led in digs while Peyton Taylor led with 40 assists and 3 aces.
