Alice Lloyd Volleyball Travels to Midway University
Midway, KY: On November 1st, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball team journeyed to central Kentucky to battle the powerful Midway University Lady Eagles (17-4; 12-4 RSC), in River States Conference action. The visitors fought, but fell in 3 sets to one of the division's top teams.
In Set 1, the hosts came out strong and kept the pressure on the entire way. They would eventually take a solid 25-9 win.
In Set 2, the Caney Creek club would jump out to an early lead, but a massive 17-4 run by the Midway squad propelled them on to a 25-12 decision.
In Set 3, ALC stayed close as they put up a good tussle. The visiting crew trailed 17-13, and were in contention before the host Eagles closed out the contest with a 8-2 spurt to pull away from there and end the night, 25-15.
On the day, Caroline Parsons and Kristin Isaac paced ALC with 6 and 5 assists while Kyleah Ward and Reiley McCoy and led the way in kills with 7 and 5 respectively. Jenni Droke led in digs with 12. Ward contributed 2 blocks, while Droke, Parsons, and Chloe Watts each had 1 ace.
Alice Lloyd (7-17; 1-14 RSC) returns to action this weekend in the final two regular season games of the season. On Friday, they face the 25-6 Indiana University Kokomo club at 7:00pm. That is followed the next day by a contest against the 24-6 Oakland City Lady Oaks at 1:00pm.
