Alice Lloyd Soccer Opens 2024 Season at Boyce

Louisville, KY: On September 29th, the Alice Lloyd College Eagles opened the 2024 soccer campaign by facing the homestanding Boyce College Bulldogs (1-0). In a matchup that was moved to later at night due to hot, humid weather, the hosts prevailed 8-0.                                                                                                                                 

ALC Coach Juan Lander's club kept the score blank until the twelfth minute, when a pair of Bulldog scores in a nine- second-span suddenly made the score 2-0. This completely changed the momentum as the big-city club would add a trio of goals to take a 5-0 advantage by intermission.

In the second half, BC would manage to space out three more scores before the final horn sounded, and seal the deal on a 8-0 victory.

On the day, the hosts fired 21 shots on goal, compared to ALC's 4. This huge discrepancy was simply too much to overcome. Pippa Passes goalie Joseph Westphal registered 13 saves while Boyce stopped 4 Eagle attempts.

ALC (0-1) returns to action on Tuesday September 4^th, when they travel to Grayson to face the Kentucky Christian Knights. Game time is set for 6:30pm.
