Alice Lloyd Eagles Host Rio Grande
Pippa Passes, KY: The Rio Grande University Red Storm delivered 15 long bombs, and used that to take down the Alice Lloyd College Eagles, 79-69. The battle was held Tuesday,December 13th, at the Perry Campus Center.
In the first half, the hosts led 10-9 at the 14:08 mark before Rio used a 22-5 run over the next nine minutes to sprint ahead 31-15 at 5:19.
From there, ALC would get several buckets from senior guard Bryce Slone and freshman guard Koji Anderson to slice the deficit in two. Still, the Ohio team would take a 38-30 advantage into the locker room at intermission.
In the second half, the visiting Red Storm would refuse to go away quietly as they ran their advantage back to double digits once more. The Eagles would mount another comeback sparked by the play of senior forward Will Philpot, and entered striking range once more.
