Alice Lloyd Eagles Volleyball plays at Shawnee State University

Portsmouth, OH: On October 4th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles journeyed to the Buckeye state to tussle with the Shawnee State University Bears (8-7; 1-2 RSC) in River States Conference volleyball action. The short-handed Eagles, minus three starters due to injuries, dropped the match in straight sets.

In the opener, the host squad sprinted out to a 15-7 lead, and coasted all the way to the 25-12 victory.

Game 2 started with the visitors playing well. However, with the score tied 8-8, SSU rolled off a 9-4 run to leap out, 17-12. They would maintain that advantage on their way to the 25-16 win.

In Game 3, the Bears scored the first six points of the contest, and refused to allow the Kentucky ladies to get within striking range. A pair of Shawnee kills would seal the game at 25-14, assuring the match victory.

For the contest, Rose Scotello and Jadyn Hall led in kills (6,5), while Taylor Cox's 9 assists paced the squad. Scotello, Hall and Gracie Gibson came through with 9.8, and 8 digs respectively.

Alice Lloyd (5-12; 0-4) RSC) returns to the hardwood on October 5th with a double header at Beckley, West Virginia, against West Virginia Tech University and Appalachian Bible.
