Alice Lloyd Volleyball plays host to West Virginia Tech

Pippa Passes, KY: The Alice Lloyd Lady Eagles volleyball team returned home on Friday, September 27th, to face the West Virginia Tech Golden Bears in River States Conference action. When the dust had settled, Tech would leave with a 3-0 sweep.

 

WVT-3; ALC: 0

In the opener, the Kentucky team gave a great effort as they battled the Bears blow for blow. The fans were treated to a nail biter as the teams kept trading scores. Finally, with the contest knotted at 27-27, ALC appeared to take the lead, but was called for a penalty (28-27). WVT then closed out the long game by finally scoring the final point, 29-27.

Game 2 saw the visitors jump out quickly and pull out to a solid lead. They would cruise on out to take the big win, 25-10.

Game 3, saw the Mountaineer club (6-8; 3-0 RSC) determined to allow no comebacks as they grabbed an early lead and extend it all the way to the final play. They would seal the deal with a 25-12 victory.

 

On the day for ALC (4-11; 0-2 RSC), TK Ellis and Kyleah Ward led the club with 7 and 5 kills, respectively, while Rose Scotello and Camryn Thompson both handed out 9 assists. Gracie Gibson had the lone service ace while Scotello and Gibson tied for the lead in digs with 12. Jadyn Hall was right behind with 11.
