Alice Lloyd Volleyball Hosts Midway University
Pippa Passes, KY: On Tuesday, October 17th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball team played host to the Midway University Eagles in River States Conference action. The visiting Eagles would emerge victorious with a three-game sweep.
In set 1, ALC would only trail 12-9 before Midway rolled off a 13-4 burst to end the game on top, 25-13.
In set 2, the Central Kentucky squad exploded out the door on a 12-2 sprint. They would ride that early momentum all the way to a 25-11 win.
In set 3, ALC put up a tough fight as they only trailed 14-13. Unfortunately, from there, the visitors (9-10; 3-8 RSC) would end the match by rolling out an 11-2 run to seal the deal.
For the match, Kristen Isaac led ALC with 9 assists while Caroline Parsons was the leader in digs, with 10. Kyleah Ward came through with 7 kills on the day. In addition, four different Lady Eagles registered 1 ace apiece while four others recorded 1 block each in the contest.
The Lady Eagles (2-21, 0-3 RSC) have a challenging week coming up as they journey to the Hoosier state to face the East Division's top-ranked team, the 19-6 Indiana University East Red Wolves on Friday in 7:00 pm match. Then on Saturday, they visit the Indiana University Columbus Crimson Pride (5-11) for a 12:00 pm tilt.
