Lady Eagles Volleyball Travels to Ohio Christian University
Circleville, OH: On Tuesday, September 26th, the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles volleyball team traveled to Circleville, Ohio, to tangle with River States Conference foe Ohio Christian University. When the dust had settled, the Lady Trailblazers had pulled out a 3-0 win.
In set 1, the scoreboard read 4-4 before the hosts scored eight unanswered points to pull ahead, 12-4. OCU would then cruise towards the 25-11 win.
In set 2, the match was tight before the Buckeye club crept out to an 18-13 advantage. The Trailblazers would end the set with a 7-3 burst to take the game, 25-16.
In set 3, ALC came out with their best ball of the day and ran out to a 9-4 cushion. OCU would fight back, however, with a 7-0 run to take the lead, 11-9. ALC would battle till the end, but the home squad managed to hold its advantage before finally sealing the match, 25-17.
On the day for the Caney Creek club, Taylor Hamilton led ALC with 8 assists while Kristen Issac added 5. Kyleah Ward contributed 5 kills, with Brooklyn Cheek, Natalie Waddell, and Akira Keathley all gaining 3. Caroline Parsons produced 16 digs, and Issac chipped in with 8. TK Ellis came through with two service aces.
The Lady Eagles are off until the weekend, when they host two conference opponents. On Friday, September 26th, they face the Indiana University-Southeast Grenadiers at 7:00 pm. They return the next day at noon to face the Indiana University East Red Wolves at 12:00 noon.
