Alice Lloyd Track and Field participates in Centre College Invite

Danville, KY: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles Outdoor Track and Field squad traveled to central Kentucky on April 5th to compete in the competitive Center College Invitational in Danville. Squads ranging from NAIA to NCAA entered teams in this competitive event.

On the women's side of the things, the Lady Eagles would score 6 points to finish in 9th place. Kaitlynn Ratliff and Taylor Caldwell represented the Caney Creek club.

Caldwell competed in two field events. In the Javelin toss, she would finish with a throw of 26.34m, which would placed her in 5th place and earned 4 points for the squad.  The senior also appeared in the shot put, where she delivered a toss of 9.95m and placed 7th. This earned 2 points for the club.

Ratliff competed in the 5000m run where she  registered a time of 22:40.46.

For the men, the Eagles would finish in 9th place. Nicholas ChasteenDarren GriffinPeyton Boblett, and Anthony Day were the Eagle representatives.

Chasteen appeared in two track events. He finished the 100m dash, with a solid time of 11:14 which earned him 5th place. This produced 4 points for the squad. He also participated in the 200m dash where he finished in a time of 23:01 for 9th place. 

Griffin competed in three field events. In the Javelin, his toss of 26.68m (94-01ft) placed him 9th, while in the Discus, his toss went 30.12m (98-10ft).  Finally, he achieved a 9.42m (30.11ft) throw in the Shot Put.

Boblett was also in two field events. The senior tossed the Shot Put 9.74m, while in the Javelin, he reached 29.07m.

Day participated in two field events. In the Long Jump, he achieved 4.39m (14-05 ft), while in the High Jump, he fouled out on attempts.
