Grayson,KY: On Tuesday, October 22nd the Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles (0-8) journeyed to Grayson, Kentucky to battle the homestanding Kentucky Christian University Lady Knights. The visitors put up a terrfic struggle before faltering late and falling 3-0.
The hosts struck first, gaining their first point at 11:17 to go ahead 1-0. However, from there, ALC tightened up on the defensive end and held the Knights without another goal before intermission. At the midpoint, the score remained 1-0.
In the second half, the defense was solid by both squads. The Caney Creek squad had one good shot to chip into the lead from Emma Day, but it missed the mark. Finally, at 71:20, KCU came up with a huge score which gave them a 2-0 advatage.
From there, at 73:55, the home team would manage to line another shot into the net to give them some insurance, 3-0. Although the Pippa Passes posse fought feriously, they could not come up with the goal they needed to fuel a comeback, and the final horn handed the win to the Knights.
