ALC Lady Eagles Student-Athlete of the Week (January 29th, 2024): Madison Thompson

We award the female Student-Athlete of the Week honor to Lady Eagle basketball player Madison Thompson.

In the tough 78-70 defeat against Indiana University Southeast, Thompson finished with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks while sinking 4-8 from the field.

The Inez (KY) native followed that up in the nice 78-69 victory over Midway University by scoring 8 points (3-8 FG; 2-2 FT) and adding 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 blocks and 3 steals.

For the week, she shot 43.7% from the floor and 100% from the charity line. For good measure, she grabbed 15 rebounds, added 4 assists, 3 steals and 6 blocks.

In addition, Thompson is ranked second in the NCCAA in blocked shots per game (2.5bpg).

The Lady Eagles are currently 10-10 on the season.
