ALC Cross Country Participates in 2022 River States Conference Tournament

Kokomo, IN: The women's and men's cross-country teams journeyed to Kokomo, Indiana on Saturday, November 5th, to participate in the River States Conference Tournament.

The field was comprised of 10 institutions in each race, with a total of 77 women and 88 men taking the starting line for the 5K (3.1 mile) women's race and 8K (5 mile) men's race.  The course was challenging and consisted of rolling hills.

On the day, the ladies were paced once again by Sara Cecil, who crossed the finish line in a time of 23:22, to earn the 48th position. Also performing for the team were Kaitlynn Ratliff (24:53- 61st). Olivia Inskeep (26:13- 68th, Makenna Gayheart (26:45-69th), and Audrey Evans (29:21-74th). All gave a commendable effort as the club finished in 10th place.

 In the men's event, Micah Blankenship paced the squad in a time of 32:19, which earned him 70th. He was closely followed by Kenny Wilburn (32:56-74th), and Collin Ramey who came in just two seconds later (32:58-75th). The top three were assisted by Koby Proffitt (33:12-78th), Dakota Owens (34:31- 80th), and Gerald Estep (35:34-84th). Each runner gave a commendable performance as well, and the club finished in 10th position. 

The two squads will next compete in the NCCAA National Division II Championship on November 11th, in Joplin, Missouri.
