ALC Track and Field squads prove successful in Landon Bond Classic at Berea College
Berea, KY: The Landon Bond Classic was held on March 28th at Berea College. The event produced some season-best results as five members came through with Top-10 finishes, with four unleashing Top-5 placements.
For the Lady Eagles, the top dog was Rose Scotello. In the four events she attempted, she earned three top-five placements, including 2nd Place in the Javelin (27.08m) and 5th in both the Shotput and Discus. She concluded her day finishing 10th in the Long Jump (3.61m).
Chelsi Riffe also achieved a trio of top-ten placements, including 4th in the High Jump (1.35m). She also hit 7th in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump, with her Triple Jump distance setting a new school record.
For the Eagles, the top dog on the day was Braden Harvel, who had a pair of top-ten placements. His Discus throw of 37.72m was good enough for 3rd Place, and he also finished 9th in the Shotput.
Gerald Davey Bentley, finished 5th in the High Jump with a leap of 1.75.
Jacoby Dunn earned his first top-ten of the year, finishing 8th in the Javelin at 36.32m.
