Alice Lloyd Eagles Indoor Track and Field Competes in Comet Opener at Columbus, Ohio

 

Columbus, OH: The Alice Lloyd College Lady Eagles and Eagles Outdoor Track and Field squad traveled to the Buckeye state on January 14th to open the indoor track and field season in the Comet Opener, hosted by Capital University.

Coach Noah Young's squad saw several of his members perform well in the early season indoor meet consisting of many NCCAA DIII and II teams. Standout performers are as follows:

In women's action, highlights were sprinter Sarah Cecil, who has just returned from injuries, finishing in 8th in the 800M run (37:12), and Suzann Moore, also returning from injuries, finishing 10th (37.80).

On the men's side of things, Dakota Owens came up with a monster 1st Place Finish in the 400M dash, blowing away the competition with a winning time of 50:09. He was the only sprinter to break 51:00. Also, he produced a huge 2nd Place finish in the 200M dash, in a time of 22:90. He was one of only two total runners to break the 23:00 mark.

In the high jump, Gerald Bentley soared to a height of 1.81M to earn 2nd Place. He was one of only two jumpers to clear the 1.80 mark.
