Pippa Passes, KY – On September 29th, the Alice Lloyd College Eagles welcomed the NCCAA's second-ranked Boyce College Bulldogs to the banks of Caney Creek. In a back-and-forth battle, the Eagles built an early lead, weathered a fierce Bulldog comeback, and sealed a thrilling 4-3 victory on a late goal from Maddux Camden.
The Eagles broke through at the 14:00 mark when Dylan Moore found Jensen Harbaugh, who powered home the opening goal (1-0). Fifteen minutes later, Harbaugh returned the favor, setting up Camden for a perfectly placed strike to extend the lead (2-0). At 34:00, Harbaugh capitalized on a penalty kick, giving ALC a commanding 3-0 advantage at halftime.
The Bulldogs responded with three straight goals in the second half, scoring at 51:00, 62:00, and 69:00 to tie the contest at 3-3. With the pressure mounting, the Eagles needed a late spark. They got it in the 85th minute when Alex De Wolfe sent a long pass to Camden, who broke free, slipped past the defense, and drilled the ball into the net. The crowd erupted as ALC regained the lead, 4-3.
Boyce nearly forced overtime, earning a corner kick with just five seconds left, but the Eagle defense held firm to secure the statement win.
Both teams finished with 17 total shots, while ALC edged Boyce in shots-on-goal, 9-8. The Bulldogs led in corner kicks (9-6) and fouls (9-7). Eagle goalkeeper Kalin Schneider recorded nine saves in the full match.
Offensively, Harbaugh tallied two goals and one assist, while Camden netted a pair, including the game-winner. Moore and De Wolfe each added an assist.
The undefeated Eagles (6-0-2) return to action Thursday, October 2nd, when they host the Ohio Christian University Trailblazers at 6:00 pm.
