University of Victoria Wins 2026 CAC Men’s Golf Championship, Alice Lloyd Eagles finish fifth

Hobbs, NM: Nationally ranked University of Victoria (British Columbia) showcased its dominance over the course of 54 holes, winning the 2026 Continental Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship on Wednesday at Rockwind Community Links Golf Course in Hobbs, New Mexico. The tournament was hosted by the University of Southwest.

The Vikes lowered their score during each day of the three-day tournament, carding a 10-over-par 298 team score over the 18-hole final round. Victoria finished with a 908 composite score.

Hesston College (Kansas) took runner-up honors, edging Florida College by a single stroke, with a 957 score. Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas) placed fourth, with a 1,024 score; Alice Lloyd College (Kentucky) was fifth, with a 1,032 score; and Fisk University (Tennessee) rounded out the six-team tournament field with a 1,067 team score.

Victoria's Solomon Decksheimer carded a tournament-best three-under-par 69-stroke score in Wednesday's round. The strong finish moved him into 10th place in the individual standings. Teammate Jagre Knight took the tournament's medalist honors after posting a 73-stroke score in the final round, finishing with a 222-stroke score. Owen Croft placed second with a 230-stroke composite score. Maguire Lines had a fourth-place individual finish with a 233-stroke 54-hole score. Sam Kurytnik rounded out Victoria's balanced team effort with a fifth-place performance at 235.

Hesston's Kory Meireis also had a 235 score during the Larks' inaugural league championship competition. His performance featured a one-over-par 73-stroke score in the final round. Liam Leikeryd placed eighth individually for the team with a 237 score, while Max Laser Edin followed closely behind his teammate with a 238 score.

Florida College had three players card rounds in the 70s in the final round. Lucas Wahlstrom led the Falcons with a six-over-par 78 on Wednesday. James Ammirati recorded a seventh-place individual finish with a 236-stroke composite score.

Fisk's Henry Baskin placed second with a 230-stroke score after carding a 79-stroke score on Wednesday.

The Champion of Character Team was also announced. For ALC, Carson Hanson was the recipient.
