ALC Eagles Student-Athlete of the Week (January 15th, 2024): Jared Strickland

We award the male Student-Athlete of the Week honor to Eagle basketball player Jared Strickland as he came up big in two nice victories.

In a solid 88-78 victory over Asbury University, he pumped in 20 points on 7-13 field goals, 4-5 long bombs, and 1-1 free throws. He added 2 rebounds and 1 assist.

The senior guard followed that up in a huge 87-82 conference win over Indiana University East by scoring 29 points on 11-15 field goals, 3-4 trifectas, and 4-5 foul shots. He chipped in 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

 For the week, the Kingsport (TN) native averaged 24.5 points per game while shooting 64.3% from the field (18-28), 61.5% (8-13) from deep and 83.3% (5-6) from the free throw line. For good measure, he contributed 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.

The Eagles are currently 10-7 on the season.
