Ethan Miller steps into his first season as an assistant coach with Alice Lloyd College’s varsity esports program, returning to the arena where he once competed during the club’s formative 2019-20 campaign.

Known online as “RubidiumRug,” Miller rose from early guild member to president of the campus Better Gaming Guild, steering squads that battled across fighting-game brackets—Smash Bros., Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter—and trading-card arenas like Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh!

A five-time local Mortal Kombat champion, two-time Yu-Gi-Oh! title-holder, and Risk: Global Domination Grand Master, he pairs tournament-tested instincts with a strategist’s eye for momentum swings.

Miller’s coaching philosophy centers on reading opponents, evolving playstyles, and timing decisive calls—skills he now channels to sharpen every Eagles roster’s adaptability and composure under pressure.

He resides in Pippa Passes, Kentucky.
