April 1st
Alice Lloyd-3: Miami Hamilton-2
The Bluegrass boys jumped out to a 3-0 lead, and then held on until the final out.
The hosts did their damage in the first. Kyle Johnson (CF) opened the game with a double. He would later make the score 1-0 on a single by Kyle Compton (3B). Finally a walk and Austin Byrd (DH) single raised the advantage to three, 3-0.
Pitching controled the matchup until the top of the sixth. In that inning, a single and 2-run blast by MH shrunk the lead to one, 3-2.
However, the Caney Creek crew would mow the Harriers down in the final inning to preserve the hard-fought victory.
At the plate, Johnson and Compton each rapped 2 hits while Compton, Byrd, and Jayden Huff (LF) each delivered 1 RBI
Quentin Williams started on the mound and was solid. He allowed 0 earned runs on 2 hits in 3 innings of work, while punching out 2. RJ Broome relieved for 4 innings, allowing 3 hits and 2 runs, whiffing 1.
The victors took the hitting battle, 5-4 and won despite committing more errors, 2-0.
