ALC Baseball rallies, take down Miami-Hamilton, 7-5
Hamilton, OH: The Alice Lloyd College Eagles (12-7) baseball team returned to the diamond on March 10th to battle the homestanding Miami Hamilton Harriers (8-6) in a nine-inning contest. The hosts jumped out to a early lead, only to see the Bluegrass bombers battle back in the mid-innings to snatch the victory, 7-5.

The Ohio squad jumped out to a 3-0 lead, only to see the Eagles rally for the win.
The scoring opened in the third when Hamilton plated a pair of runs with a double, 2-0. Then, in the next inning, they added to their lead, aided by an Eagle error (3-0).
In the fifth, the Pippa Passes posse began to eat into the deficit. With a runner on base, Cole Bishop (C) laced a double in the gap to break the ice, 3-1. This would lead to a stretch of solid innings.
In the sixth, a Colton Lovelace (SS) sacrifice fly would make the score 3-2. This was followed by back-to-back RBI doubles, courtesy of Kyle Johnson (CF) and Diego Rodriguez (2B). The sudden turn of events gave the Caney Creekers a 4-3 edge.
In the seventh, Jaden Huff (LF) slapped a single to give his crew a 5-3 advantage. This would be important because MH would smack a 2-run homer in the bottom of the inning to knot the contest up (5-5).
However, In the eighth, ALC's Loveless singled, then raced home when Johnson connected for a triple to propel his buddies to a 6-5 lead. Finally,, in the ninth, after Bishop singled to reach base, Loveless lined another well-place single to drive in the insurance run, 7-5.
Now down to their final opportunity, the Harriers were retired in order, sending the Kentucky kids back home with the nice victory.
At the plate, Johnson and Bishop each rapped 3 hits while Lovelace and Huff each delivered 2. Johnson came up big, smashing 1 triple and 2 doubles. He also tied Loveless, as both knocked in 2 RBI's.
Quentin Williams started on the mound and allowed 3 earned runs on 4 hits in 3.2 innings of work. He stuck out 3. Braydon Norris relieved for 1.1 innings, allowing 1 hit and 0 runs. He was followed by Elijah Breeding who tossed 2 innings, and gave up 3 hits and 3 runs with 2K's.
RJ Broome tossed the eighth and retired 3 straight batters to earn the win. Anakin Floyd then retired 3 straight Harriers in the ninth to earn the save, whiffing 1.
The victors took the hitting battle, 13-8 and won despite committing more errors, 2-1.
