GAME 1
Alice Lloyd-4; WSL-2
In the series opener, WSLake opened the day with a run scoring single (1-0). However, ALC responded in the bottom of the first when TJay Mullins (LF) drove in Dawson Beckett (DH) with a single of his own (1-1).
One inning later, Alice Lloyd would add to their lead when a crucial error by the Lakers and a sacrifice fly allowed 2 runs to cross home (3-1).
Wright earned one of those back in the top of the third when an error by the hosts led to a run (3-2). Fortunately for the home fans, Ryan Cozart (SS) would rap a single in the bottom half of the inning, and Caleb Horton (2B) trotted home for a run (4-2).
From that juncture, ALC pitching took over as Chase Conley bared down to retire the order in both the fourth and fifth inning. He allowed only a single hit in each of the final two innings. The contest then ended when Wright State grounded out to the shortstop.
The victors registered 5 singles on the day with Cozart recording 2 of them. Cozart, Beckett, Mullins, and Noah Dingess provided 1 RBI apiece.
On the mound, Chase Conley went the distance to take the win. He allowed just 5 singles and 1 earned run, while whiffing 5 batters. He only walked 2 Lakers.
The victors committed 1 error and WSL had 2.
GAME 2
Alice Lloyd-2; WSL-3
The Pippa Passes Eagles had the winning run on second in the last inning, but they fell at the end.
The visitors opened the game with a single and double to plate 1 run (1-0). Things remained unchanged until the fifth inning.
In the fifth, Wright State added another run on a fielder's choice to go up 2-0. However, ALC answered when Beckett singled and later scored on a hard single off the bat of Dingess (2-1)
In the very next inning, the Lakers earned 1 run back on a homerun to left field (3-1).
After retiring WSLake in the seventh, the Caney Creek clubbers had one last chance.
ALC would put runners on the corners and see Cannon Farrell score on a grounder (3-2). Unfortunately, a fielder's choice would end the game with 2 runners left stranded on base.
Alice Lloyd racked up 5 hits on the day with Kizer Turner (SS) and Josh Williams (PH) both stroking doubles. Dingess and Mullins each had 1 RBI.
Will Gladson started the game for ALC and suffered the hard-luck loss. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 5 hits. He whiffed 5 batters and walked 4. Ryan Cozart faced the final 5 batters and allowed just 1 hit.

Alice Lloyd-3; WSL-5
The Lakers pulled out a 13-inning thriller.
The Pippa Passes crew quickly first when Mullins drove in 2 runs in the bottom of the first with a single (2-0).
After Lake got a run back in the second on an error (2-1), the Eagles saw Dingess deliver a single to return the favor (3-1).
In the top half of inning five, WSL tied the game on a two-run double (3-3). From that point, pitching ruled the day.
From there, neither club could score runs as the pitching was steady on both ends. Although the game remained deadlocked for 7 more innings, the home team had great opportunities in both the tenth and eleventh when they had the bases loaded with two outs in each. Unfortunately, groundouts ended each inning.
Finally, Wright State broke through in the thirteenth, as they would smack 3 singles and score 2 monster runs (5-3).
Now down to their last chance, the hosts would have the tying run at bat with 2 outs. Unfortunately, the game would end on a groundball in the infield.
