Alice Lloyd Names Young as Eagles Track and Field Coach

Pippa Passes: Alice Lloyd College has named Noah Young as the head Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field coach for the 2022-23 season. The new mentor will guide both the men's and women's programs.

The 2022 graduate of ALC was a 4-year star athlete for the Eagles. As a member of the basketball team, Young was twice selected as First Team All-River States Conference by the NAIA and three times selected All-Mideast Region by the NCCAA.  He led the men's basketball team to three consecutive Mideast Regional titles and three consecutive berths in the NCCAA National Tournament.  His clubs went 45-15 during his final two seasons of competition. In addition, he was chosen as NCCAA Third Team All-American each of the last two years after leading the nation in assists.

Although new to the sport, the rookie coach is looking forward to the challenge of building a successful program in track and field. "I have faced challenges throughout my athletics career so far, and I am looking forward to conquering this one as well. Building a competitive track and field team is going to take a lot of work from our entire team. There are some really good athletes at this level that we will compete against on a regular basis, but that's where we want our athletes to be also."

Young also added, "I believe that both of my squads will give a great effort. If they continue to strive each day to improve and keep up the hard work, I know good things will come our way."

Young will also serve as the Director of the Perry Campus Center and assistant coach to the men's basketball program. He is a native of Highlands (Ky), and now resides in Pippa Passes.
